Kenyan coffee is renowned worldwide for its exceptional quality, meticulous processing, and exquisite flavors. The Gatina Washing Station sits a few kilometers outside the town of Karatina in Nyeri County and is managed by the Mugaga Farmers’ Cooperative Society. The station receives cherries from 790 members, among them, 280 — over 30% — are women. The 790 members of the Gatina Station cultivate a total of 142 hectares, which breaks down to about a tenth of a hectare, or a few hundred trees, per farmer. These small coffee “gardens” are what make specialty processing not only possible but essential. Thanks to their dedication and with support from the Mugaga Farmers’ Cooperative Society, the unique Kenyan profile of this coffee is carefully preserved from the members’ fields all the way to the dry mill and beyond.

As a note, Kenyan coffees are classified by size. AA beans are the largest, representing coffees with a screen size of 17/18, meaning they are larger than 7.2 millimeters.

250g roasted specialty coffee in beans or ground on demand, in a tin can with air valve.
